IthacaNet, Inc. and Ithaca College's Academic Computing & Client Services (ACCS) are teaming up to sponsor the first annual Ithaca Technology Week, March 22-28, 1997.
IthacaNet, Inc. is the host of the annual Networking Tompkins County conference, slated this year for March 22nd, 1997 at the Statler Hotel on the Cornell University campus. Ithaca College's Academic Computing & Client Services sponsors the annual Educational Technology Day show, which will be on March 27th, 1997, in the Emerson Suites at Ithaca College. These two will be anchor events for Ithaca Technology Week.
IthacaNet and ACCS are encouraging businesses and community organizations across Tompkins County to hold technology-related events during this week. Our goal is to highlight the many facets of technology which are shaping our lives in Tompkins County. More information on the events to take place during Ithaca Technology Week will be available on this Web site.
Community organizations and businesses will be holding open houses and demonstrations to highlight technologies that they are using, and we anticipate that local technology-related firms may also have specials on their products and services during this week. We are also encouraging local museums to have technology-related exhibits during this week-long event.
One of the highlights of the Networking Tompkins County Conference this year will be the inauguration of the "Partnership for an Electronic Future, Phase One", sponsored by the Electronic Future Committee of Tompkins County, which is a joint project between the county and Cornell University to provide a high-speed Internet link for a number of government offices and community organizations in downtown Ithaca.
The sponsors of Ithaca Technology Week will be helping to promote the week's events. If your organization is interested in having your event included in Ithaca Technology Week publicity, please contact:
