Conference Information
Your chance to discover the future of networking and how it can affect your organization's future--the third annual Networking Tompkins County conference will again be bringing both local and nationally-known speakers together for a day of lively discussions on networking and information access in Tompkins County.
Hosted by IthacaNet, Inc., Networking Tompkins County 1997 will be held at the Statler Hotel on the Cornell University campus on Saturday, March 22, 1997. The theme for this year's conference is "Networking the Future". You will learn how networking, the Internet, and the World Wide Web will look in the future, and how they will be influencing our everyday lives and affecting the way we do business.
Nearly 300 people, from over 130 businesses, educational institutions, and other organizations from Tompkins and surrounding counties attended last year's event--making it a great place to network. The conference is designed to help organizations in the local area exchange information and build cooperation for joint ventures in networking and access.
One of the highlights of this year's conference will be the inauguration of the "Partnership for an Electronic Future, Phase One", sponsored by the Electronic Future Committee of Tompkins County. A joint project between Tompkins County and Cornell University, it will provide a high-speed Internet link for a number of government offices and community organizations in downtown Ithaca.
In addition to the presentations, a showcase of products and services from computer- and networking-related vendors will be on hand all day. Lunch and coffee breaks are included in the price of the registration. Check-in is at 8:00 am9:00 am, the conference runs from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Space is limited, so register early!
