Y2K: Hype or Reality?
The final session of the conference features two local speakers who
have been spending far more time than they'd like dealing with the
millennium bug, the Y2K problem we've all heard so much about.
- Patricia (Pat) Vaughan is a member of Ithaca's Common Council
and of the Tompkins County Y2K Information Network, and will
review some of the work our local municipalities are doing to
prepare for the rollover from 99 to 00.
- Ron Parks is in charge of Y2K remediation efforts for Cornell's
administrative systems, and has been giving talks around the
area on what the issues are and how they're likely to impact
computer systems of various types.
